For accent lighting, of course! Not all LED strip lights are equal. The trick to an aesthetically pleasing result is light dispersion. You never want to see the individual diodes (bulbs). The light should bounce off a surface such as the wall behind your TV before hitting your eye. A step up from single color LED lighting is active LED lighting. Active LED lighting uses the colors from the image being displayed on the screen to create an incredibly immersive effect. Indirect lighting also reduces strain on your eyes while watching TV in the dark, making this lighting both decorative and functional.
The truth is that the “best” mount depends on the situation. Each type has advantages and disadvantages. Two of the most common mounts are the full-motion or articulating mount and the flat-tilting mount. Full-motion mounts are great for open floor plans and rooms with multiple viewing angles. They may also allow easier access to components and inputs behind the TV. Flat-tilting mounts work best on uneven mounting surfaces, such as brick and stacked stone. They create a low-profile, flush look.
Even with the lighter weight of many current models, it is essential that your television is mounted securely to studs. Failure to do so not only puts your television at risk, but you and your family as well. Having your TV installed by professionals is the safest option.
You can mount your TV at any height, but we recommend keeping two main factors in mind. The first is the viewing angle. At the end of the day, TVs are meant to be watched, not seen, so a comfortable neck position while viewing is the top priority. Second, the overall appearance of the home theater setup is also worth considering. A TV that is both comfortable to watch and aesthetically pleasing is always our main goal when suggesting a mounting height to our clients.
